Assessment

We do a thorough assessment on your first visit so we can understand your area of interest and we can plan what we need to do to get you back to - work, sport, gardening, home activities, and other activities you would normally be able to do.

"Hands On"

We use our hands using a variety of techniques : Soft tissue massage, myofascial work, mobilisation of joints, neural mobilisation. Sometimes we may use dry needling and/or acupuncture for relieving pain and improving relaxation of muscles to assist the progression of other treatments. We also use taping techniques – both rigid and dynamic tape to support joints and muscles at various stages of recovery.

Exercise

Exercise is essential especially after injury or surgery. When you’re recovering from injury, surgery, or chronic wear and tear – we will give you easy exercises and then slowly progress them as you get stronger. We’ll ensure you progress safely and confidently until you return to your normal activities. Sometimes we can make your exercises more challenging by using “small equipment” that you can use at home. eg. exercise balls, exercise bands, foam roller, and spikey balls.

Education

It is important to us that you understand the nature of your pain and/or injury. We use diagrams and models to explain how different body areas work so that you can understand and appreciate how to progress exercise and activities safely. We help you to achieve your goals – whether it’s returning to sport, work or home activities. We attend regular update seminars and courses so you can benefit from our up to date skills.
